Swag Golf released three new Garbage Pail Kids headcovers
They retail for $125 and will not restock
Past designs have resold for solid profits, but these have not sold out
As all golfers know, it doesn’t matter if you can shoot even par or keep your driver straight or get up and down without throwing your club. What will really impress the cart girl is having the swankiest set of clubs on the course, and that includes your headcovers. Swag Golf has once again released Garbage Pail Kids headcovers, but they aren’t catching the same attention as their previous releases.
You know, golf doesn’t have to be a stuffy, boring sport for stuffy, boring people. There’s all kinds of toys and silly accoutrements on sale for the weekend hacker, with Swag Golf being one of the biggest suppliers.
The accessory manufacturer recently added a new set of headcovers to their Garbage Pail Kids collection. The two brands have been working together for over four years now, and the resulting collaboration has been a hit with golfers.
The newest headcovers are all for drivers, featuring designs for “Adam Bomb”, “Dead Ted”, and “Joel Hole”. Each one retailed for $125 exclusively through Swag Golf’s webstore.
These designs complement Swag Golf’s extensive Garbage Pail Kids collection. Golfers can match their driver and putter headcovers with multiple variants and characters. As a limited edition item, Swag Golf’s Garbage Pail Kids headcovers do not restock after selling out.
As of this publication, only the “Adam Bomb” covers have sold out. This design has typically been the most popular Swag Golf Garbage Pail Kid headcover, so it’s no surprise to see it move the fastest.
And it’s also no surprise to see the headcovers reselling. This collection has been very popular with golfers since its inception, and new designs frequently reappear on eBay after selling out through Swag Golf’s site.
Right now, Swag Golf Garbage Pail headcovers are reselling for anywhere from $120 to $175. Obviously the more popular designs will sell for more, but it seems like the most recent headcovers are not reselling for significant profits yet.
That’s a disappointment, and it goes to show why you should always check a store’s return and refund policies before you click “buy”. While Swag Golf offers 30 day refunds for standard products, limited releases like these headcovers are final sale.
It’s unclear if Swag Golf has diluted the market for their Garbage Pail Kids headcovers by releasing so many, or if consumers have just lost interest. In any case, this goes to show that you can’t always count on what’s flipped before when looking for items to resell today.
