State Farm Mutual is issuing a one-time $5 billion dividend to qualifying auto policyholders nationwide
Payments equal 4 to 10 percent of 2025 premium per vehicle, with the rate varying by state
Eligible customers need a State Farm Mutual auto policy active anytime in 2025 and a payout of at least $10
Most of what we cover here involves camping out for a restock or beating a bot to checkout. This one’s different. If you had a State Farm Mutual auto policy last year, money might already be headed your way with zero effort required beyond opening an email or a piece of mail. You may be able to receive $100 or more for every vehicle you insured through State Farm in 2025.
State Farm Mutual announced it’s issuing what it calls the largest dividend in its 100-plus-year history, driven by stronger than expected underwriting performance in 2025. The company insures more than 49 million vehicles, and payments are going out in waves by state, a process expected to take several months to finish nationwide.
Real payouts vary widely by state and policy, but most customers are reporting rebates in the $70 to $120 range per vehicle. If you insured multiple cars with State Farm, you get a separate payment for each one. Canceling your policy in 2026 doesn’t disqualify you either. As long as the policy was active at any point in 2025 and the dividend clears the $10 minimum, you’re in line for a check.
There’s no application. If State Farm has a valid email on file, you’ll get a message with a link to a payment portal where you choose between a check or a digital payment. No email on file means a paper check gets mailed automatically, no action required. Either way, the only real job here is opening the notification and following the instructions inside it before doing anything else.
You don’t need to be a current State Farm customer to qualify for the dividend, but you must have purchased auto insurance from the company in 2025 to be eligible. The amount of money you’ll receive depends on the terms and length of your policy.
Only State Farm auto insurance customers are eligible for the dividend. Home, Life, or other insurance policies are not part of this program.
Because this involves a legitimate company sending unsolicited payment links tied to a $5 billion program, it’s also exactly the kind of thing scammers like to imitate. Only use the payment portal or contact info listed on State Farm’s own site or in the email tied to your actual policy, and don’t hand over banking details to anyone who calls you first claiming to be from the dividend program. There’s no cost to claim a real dividend and no reason to pay anyone to “process” it faster.
This isn’t a resale opportunity, but it’s still worth flagging for anyone who insured a car with State Farm Mutual last year. Check your email, including spam, and don’t ignore anything that looks like it’s from State Farm’s dividend program between now and later this year.
