Shohei Ohtani's Dual Logoman Card is Worth $10,000,000

The card in question is Topps’ new Back-to-Back Dual Gold Logoman Autograph Relic, a 1-of-1 built to honor players who won the same major award in both 2024 and 2025. Ohtani’s version carries two gold MLB Logoman patches: one honoring his 2024 NL MVP, cut from a jersey he wore during a September 2025 game against the Orioles where he went 2-for-2 with two home runs, and a second honoring his 2025 NL MVP, worn during an April 2026 game where he reached base three times.

Both patches sit alongside two on-card autographs, one signed in English and one in Ohtani’s rare Kanji signature. It’s a fitting tribute to the very definition of “two-way player”, and it’s hiding somewhere in a pack of 2026 Topps Chrome Baseball cards, which hit shelves July 22.

The card’s reveal set off an immediate scramble among collectibles dealers to lock down the right to buy it before anyone else even knew who would pull it.

Kevin O’Leary’s Secure Collectibles moved first, posting a $6.5 million bounty that would have made the card the highest-selling baseball card ever sold, but that number didn’t last long. Hong Kong-based Grade 10 came in with a $10 million offer only hours later, effectively pricing the card above every other modern trading card ever produced before a single collector has laid eyes on it.

Ohtani cards have been the hobby’s benchmark for two years running, and this one was built specifically to top the last record instead of just adding to the pile. Combining two patches with two autographs in two languages gives it a level of built-in scarcity that even Fanatics’ own prior Logoman sales didn’t have, and the bounty offers function as a real-time price floor before the card has even surfaced. Whoever pulls it will have outside buyers competing before they’ve decided whether to shop it around publicly.

The card itself is the story, but the boxes it’s hiding in are a different situation entirely. Topps has printed more of this product than last year’s Chrome release and pushed more boxes into the market than the hobby was expecting, and the secondary market shows it. Hobby boxes retailing at $335 are moving for around $420, and Jumbo Hobby boxes at $625 are landing between $750 and $800.

Those are real profits, but they’re softer than the hype around the chase cards would suggest, and nowhere close to the multiples resellers have seen on smaller, more controlled releases. Topps built one of the most desirable cards in modern hobby history here. It just buried it under a much bigger haystack than usual, and the odds of any individual buyer being the one who finds it are worse than the headlines make it feel.

Incidentally, it’s worth considering that next year’s card might be worth even more. Shohei Ohtani is the current favorite for 2026 NL MVP, which would make him a historic back-to-back-to-back MVP on top of his heroics on the mound and at the plate. And if you consider that his Dodgers are well on their way to a thirteenth consecutive playoff berth and maybe even a third-straight World Series win, you might have the recipe for the most memorable season in baseball history.

Of course, it’s far too early to make these kinds of predictions, especially for such an unpredictable sport. But with the 2027 MLB season very much still up in the air, it’s beginning to look like 2026 will be memorable at the very least.
