Off-White X Monster High Makes Quick Cash for Resellers

Earlier this month, Monster High announced a new doll. Nothing out of the ordinary there, but when we got more details about exactly who they were collaborating with, things got a bit more interesting. Off-White and Monster High teamed up to produce a limited edition doll called “Electra Melody”. Now resellers are flipping these dolls at a remarkable premium. Let’s take a look at this collaboration and see why collectors are paying so much to have one.

Monster High Off-White Dolls

We’re big fans of Monster High at RC. There’s a sizable amount of collectors that buy up every new release and keep resellers in business. From real world figures like the Elvira Skullector doll to fictional characters from “The Nightmare Before Christmas“, Monster High is easy money.

Today, we’re looking at a remarkable collaboration. Most Monster High dolls revolve around some form of the macabre, using mythological or classical figures like Frankenstein or Dracula. Basically, they’re usually spooky.

The Electra Melody Monster High doll is based on designs from Off-White. She’s wearing a dress first seen in 2018, and the Monster High design team has written that they’ve extensively collaborated with Off-White on every aspect of her appearance.

Like most premium Monster High dolls, the packaging itself is part of the appeal. The box for the Electra Melody doll has a striking appearance, almost like a work of art.

We’re not sure what the connection is between the the two companies, but it seems strong enough to justify not only this doll, but three more. The Electra Melody doll is just the first release of a four part collaboration between Off-White and Monster High.

Monster High Off-White Price and Availability

The Off-White X Monster High Electra Melody doll cost $150. They were sold on October 13 exclusively through the Mattel Creations website.

They were also quite limited. Special edition dolls like the Electra Melody will usually sell out pretty quickly, and they will almost never restock. Monster High fans that miss out on the drop have no option but to find the dolls they want from someone else.

Monster High Off-White Dolls Resell

Fortunately, there’s always someone willing to a lend a helping hand to these unlucky collectors. Resellers frequently target Monster High drops because of their premium prices, limited availability, and the free spending habits of the Monster High fanbase.

Currently, an Off-White X Monster High Electra Melody doll is reselling for around $200. Immediately after release, prices were a bit higher, hovering at $230 to $250.

And while these were popular enough to sell out, it’s not like this was an exceptionally hard product to buy. These dolls were in stock for around 10 minutes before they were all sold out. Picking one up made for an easy $50 to $100 in profit.
