Key Points

  • All three Nike x One Piece Air Max Plus colorways retail for $180 with staggered global release dates

  • Mera Mera no Mi (Ace) pairs are not releasing in the US

  • Nike revealed the collaboration’s One Piece TCG promo cards for the first time today

Nike’s One Piece collaboration has been rolling out in pieces for weeks, but today added a new layer resellers need to know about. Nike confirmed the trading card element tied to the collection, giving fans their first look at the promo cards bundled with in-person purchases. Combined with a release calendar that spans four continents and three separate access methods, this has quickly become one of the more complicated drops on the calendar, in a good way for anyone willing to do the homework.

One Piece Nike Sneaker Details

The Nike x One Piece collaboration centers on three Air Max Plus colorways, each built around a different Devil Fruit from the manga: Gomu Gomu no Mi, Mera Mera no Mi, and Ope Ope no Mi. Nike didn’t just recolor an existing shoe here.

Each pair gets a fully retooled upper designed to visually reference its fruit’s powers, along with a Nike branded Jolly Roger stitched onto the tongue. A matching apparel capsule rounds things out with jerseys, caps, T-shirts built around manga panel art, and a $300 vest referencing the Devil Fruit downside of being unable to swim.

Gomu Gomu no Mi (Luffy)

This is the widest release of the three and the only one available through Nike’s SNKRS app. It’s currently running as a poll on the SNKRS home feed through September 18, with selected users getting a push notification that day inviting them into a pre-order window on September 25.

Nike One Piece Luffy Sneaker Gomu

China, Mexico, and Australia get a standard SNKRS launch with no pre-order step on the same date, and Korea gets access through SNKRS Exclusive Access, also September 25. This pair also had a small Tokyo pop-up debut on September 4 through 6 ahead of the wider release.

Ope Ope no Mi (Law)

Also a SNKRS-free release, and the one most relevant to US and European readers. It drops September 19 through select retailers only, with confirmed stops including Dallas, San Diego, Washington DC, Decatur and Lawrenceville in Georgia, London, Milan, Madrid, Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, and Stockholm.

Nike One Piece Law Sneaker Ope

If you’re in or near any of those cities, this is your most realistic shot at a pair without dealing with SNKRS odds or overseas shipping.

Mera Mera no Mi (Ace)

This colorway skips SNKRS entirely. It releases September 12 through select retailers in Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Mexico, with Australia following separately on October 16 through 18.

Nike One Piece Ace Sneaker Mera

This one is walk-in or nothing, and the retailer list is regional, so anyone outside those markets is looking at resale or a connection on the ground to get a pair. In short, if you’re in the US, don’t expect to buy these shoes at retail.

Nike One Piece Trading Card Details

Nike confirmed the collaboration includes tie-in cards for the physical One Piece Card Game, and the mechanic works differently depending on where you buy. At the Tokyo pop-up, any footwear purchase came with a fixed “DON!!” card in a Gomu Gomu design, regardless of which colorway you actually bought, and any apparel purchase came with an alternate art Monkey D. Luffy P-099 card.

At every other in-person retail launch going forward, Nike says the DON!! card will match the colorway you buy, so a Mera Mera purchase gets a Mera Mera card and an Ope Ope purchase gets an Ope Ope card.

There’s also a separate 34-card Premium Card Collection tied to a Weekly Shonen Jump digital subscriber promotion in Japan. That’s the more comprehensive card set, but it runs through a Japan-region subscription channel, which is a real hurdle for anyone outside Japan trying to get in on it.

Nike has led with the Japan side of this rollout so far, and an English language version of the DON!! cards has been confirmed but not fully detailed yet. As of now, the only confirmed distribution method for any of these cards, Japan or English, is in-person purchase. More specifics on the English cards should be coming as the September retail dates approach, and we’ll update this piece once Nike shares them.

One important caveat we can’t confirm yet: Nike’s own language ties card distribution to “in-person” footwear purchases specifically. Whether the September 25 online SNKRS order for the Gomu Gomu pair comes with a card at all is unclear, so don’t assume it will.

How to Buy Nike One Piece Sneakers

If you already have a Tokyo pop-up spot, use it. The lottery for September 4 through 6 closed on August 26. If you’re one of the people who got in, this is your best shot at all three colorways plus the fixed Gomu Gomu card and the Luffy apparel card in one trip.

For everyone else, the SNKRS poll is your first move. Since the Gomu Gomu pair is the only one on SNKRS, get into that poll on the app now. It’s open through September 18, and missing that window means missing your shot at this colorway through the app entirely.

For Mera Mera and Ope Ope, it comes down to geography. Figure out which retailer near you, or near someone you know, is on the confirmed list for your region, and treat September 12 or September 19 like a standard in-line release.

For the cards, temper expectations for now. The Shonen Jump route requires a Japan-based digital subscription, which most readers won’t already have set up, and it’s not something worth scrambling into last minute without understanding the terms.

Nike has confirmed an English version of the DON!! cards is coming, but hasn’t detailed how or where those will be distributed yet. Until that information lands, the only confirmed way to get any version of these cards is an in-person purchase at one of the September 12 or September 19 locations. Keep an eye out for updates rather than assuming the English cards will follow the exact same rules as the Japan rollout.
