Key Points

  • Resellers mobbed the Tokyo pop-up and are listing their hauls for sale right now

  • Shoe and clothing purchases included limited edition trading cards

  • The shoes are selling for ~$900 and bundles of two cards go for $500

Nike’s official One Piece collab kicked off at pop-up in Tokyo this weekend, and we’re already seeing resellers take in profits. Early sales for the shoes and trading cards are rolling in right now across eBay and StockX. The resellers that secured a spot in line now stand to take home $1,000 or more in profits. The good news? The collab is coming to the US soon.

Nike One Piece Dr. B Pop-Up Details

The Nike x One Piece collection reimagines the Air Max Plus around three Devil Fruits from the manga, each getting its own colorway and its own release window. The Tokyo stop came first, running September 4 through 6 at a pop-up in Harajuku, and it came with a twist nobody outside Japan is getting: trading cards.

Every shoe purchase at the pop-up came with a “DON!! Card” in the Gomu Gomu design tied to that colorway. Every apparel purchase, separately, came with an alternate art version of the “P-099 Monkey D. Luffy” character card. Neither card was for sale on its own. To walk away with both, a shopper needed to buy a pair of sneakers and a piece of apparel, the cheapest of which is a $45 cap, on the same trip.

That’s a real ask for a manga collab, even one built around a franchise with the kind of built-in fanbase One Piece carries. It also explains why the cards didn’t stay cheap for long once the pop-up closed its doors.

Two-card sets are trading hands for about $500 on eBay. Meanwhile the Gomu Gomu colorway itself is averaging around $800 in sales on StockX, a shoe that retailed for $180. Someone who bought the shoe and the cheapest qualifying apparel item spent about $225 to walk out of the pop-up, then turned around and sold the shoe and the card set separately.

Nike One Piece Cards for Sale

Even after platform fees and expenses, resellers are looking at around $1,000 in profit after the pop-up, though the exact number depends heavily on which apparel item someone bought to secure the card. Either way, that’s a serious return for a weekend trip and a couple hundred dollars in spend, and it’s the kind of number that gets attention fast in a fanbase this online.

Bottom Line

Outside of Japan, only footwear purchases come with a DON!! Card in a matching colorway. Apparel purchases at the other global stops don’t include a Luffy card at all, since that pairing was exclusive to the Tokyo event. That scarcity is a big part of why the current bundle price is holding.

The rest of the world gets its shot starting September 12 at select retailers across Asia and Mexico, followed by US and European stops on September 19, then a global SNKRS release on September 25. Sydney rounds things out in October. You can read our full guide to the drop to get prepared.

With sales data on the books for this drop, it’s clear that there’s tons of demand for Nike’s One Piece collab. Whether you’re flipping the shoes, the cards, or both, there’s plenty of profit here. Don’t skip this one. Getting a pair won’t be easy, but it sure as hell will be worth the effort.
