Hot Wheels RWB Porsche 930 Resells for Incredible Profits

In any hobby, you have the purists. Folks who loathe and mock the idea of anyone screwing with the past. They’re a common sight within car culture, and it’s part of the reason you see so many people obsessing over original paint, original equipment, and original cigarettes in the original ashtray.

Fortunately, we’re not catering to the purists today, and neither is Hot Wheels. Earlier this week, they dropped a heavily customized Porsche 930 straight from the garage of Akira Nakai’s RAUH-Welt Begriff tuning garage.

With a big wing, big fenders, and a big ass, it’s a perfect fit for Hot Wheels’ original vision of souped-up street racers and the perfect thing to piss off Porsche purists.

Hot Wheels sold these Porsche 930s through Mattel Creations for $38, limited to two per customer. These were a Red Line Club exclusive, meaning you’d need to pay the $10 annual subscription in order to buy the car.

After they went live on September 2, they sold out in just a few minutes. While Mattel regularly produces collectable Hot Wheels, this was one of their most popular releases in the last few months. It didn’t take long to see them reappear on eBay.

Right now, the Hot Wheels RWB Porsche 930 is reselling for upwards of $150 at a time, with many sales hovering around $170 to even $200 at a time.

That’s a potential profit of more than $100 per car, further multiplied if a reseller managed to snag two cars in a single order. Triple digit profits for five minutes of work is an ideal scenario for any reseller, and one that we’re always on the lookout for.
