Another day, another vinyl reselling for record profits. Ethel Cain is selling signed vinyl versions of her second album “Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You”. These have been enormously popular with fans, especially after seeing signed copies of her debut album flipping for nearly $1,500. These are sold out now, and resellers are already turning triple digit profits. Let’s take a look.

First, a little background. Ethel Cain is the musical alias of singer-songwriter Hayden Anhedönia. She’s been making music for several years now, with her breakthrough debut album “Preacher’s Daughter” releasing in 2022 through her own record label.

Since then, she’s produced several singles, embarked on multiple tours, performed at Coachella, and worked with stars like Mitski, Caroline Polachek, and Florence and the Machine.

In the midst of all this, Cain has been working on her second album “Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You”, which released yesterday. Multiple physical versions were released alongside its release on streaming services.

Resellers and fans had their eyes on an exclusive signed vinyl variant of “Willoughby Tucker”. These were identical to the deluxe two-disc EP released through her site, but shipped with an exclusive signed insert for $45.

Unsurprisingly, these records sold out fast. It’s not unusual to see signed vinyl sell out and resell for a profit, but many resellers were paying close attention to this release because of Cain’s past releases. Signed copies of her debut album “Preacher’s Daughter” went on to resell for over $1,000.

Those numbers should catch anyone’s attention. Now that “Willoughby Tucker” is officially released it’s unclear if any more signed vinyl records will be sold, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled.

Right now, Ethel Cain’s signed “Willoughby Tucker” vinyl is reselling for around $500. It’s still pretty early and we’re waiting for more sales to roll in. Still, this is a great start for resellers.
