The Duskbloods Network Test Applications Open July 22

Applications go live through the official Duskbloods network test site starting July 22 at 7 a.m PDT and stay open until July 28 at 6:59 a.m PDT. You’ll need to select a region and language, then fill in your Nintendo Account details.

FromSoftware has stated that applicants need a Nintendo Switch 2 and an active Nintendo Switch Online membership to participate, though it’s unclear whether that gets verified during the application itself. Given the application is free and takes minutes, it’s worth trying even if you don’t currently own the console or subscription. Selected players will find out on August 7 and get a download code for the test, which runs August 21 through 24.

The Duskbloods is FromSoftware’s first new IP since Elden Ring, described as a PvPvE experience in the vein of battle royale games, and almost nothing else about it has leaked.

That mystery is exactly what makes an early look valuable. We saw this exact setup play out with Elden Ring Nightreign’s network test, where invite codes started reselling for up to $60 once FromSoftware sent them out, more than the cost of the game when it launched at retail.

We do need to make a little disclaimer here because we’re working with limited information: because From Software is asking applicants to own a Switch 2 and online subscription, reselling this code could get complicated. It’s possible that they’ll only allow whitelisted accounts to participate in the playtest, in which case you would need to sell your entire Nintendo account to transfer your code. That’s not an issue if you just set up a burner to make the application, but obviously not an option if you’re actually gaming on your Switch.

Also, note that selling and transferring the codes is prohibited by From Software’s ToS. Because you’re linking your account to a particular code, they may retaliate against you for reselling it. Just something to chew on, and two pretty good reasons to apply to the network test on a burner account, not your main Nintendo account.

With FromSoftware confirming a first-come, first-served review process, waiting even a day or two after applications open could cost you a shot at a code worth flipping later.
