The Walt Disney World 55th Anniversary Cinderella doll releases September 7 exclusively through the Disney Store
Just 5,000 numbered dolls will be made, each shipping with a certificate of authenticity
Pricing has not been confirmed but similar dolls have retailed around $150
Disney is ringing in 55 years of Walt Disney World with a new doll celebrating the park. The 55th Anniversary Cinderella doll leans into Magic Kingdom’s carousel instead of the usual ballroom look, with gold foil packaging and dress detailing pulled straight from the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel. Similar dolls have a track record of flying off shelves and resurfacing on eBay for triple their price within hours. This one looks primed to follow that same script, and resellers who move fast could be looking at same-day profit.
This isn’t Disney’s first limited run Cinderella collector’s doll, and that history is why resellers should pay attention. The 55th Anniversary doll is inspired by the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, with carousel horses worked into her glass slipper heels and a diamond pattern box.
She’s fully poseable, comes with a display stand, and ships with a numbered certificate tying her to one of just 5,000 units. Disney confirmed the doll lands on Disney Store first, with a later release planned for select Walt Disney World locations.
Last year’s Cinderella 75th Anniversary doll is the closest comparison. That release retailed for $149.99, capped at 5,230 units, and sold out almost immediately. Resellers who caught it early flipped units for as much as $300 on eBay. If the 55th Anniversary doll lands anywhere near that $150 mark, the math looks familiar.
Assuming a $150 retail price and a $300 resale, sellers are looking at roughly $109 in profit per doll after eBay’s 13.6 percent fee, before shipping. That’s not a guess, it’s backed by actual sold comps from the last Cinderella anniversary release. Demand for this category typically peaks in the first day, so resellers who can check out the moment the doll goes live have the best shot at securing units before they’re gone.
One thing to flag before buying: the Disney Store’s return policy excludes Limited Edition items from its standard 30 day window. Treat this as effectively final sale and don’t spend more than you’re comfortable losing if the secondary market cools. Given how consistently these anniversary dolls have moved in the past, that risk looks manageable, but it’s worth knowing going in.
With only 5,000 units and a proven buyer base, this could sell out within minutes of going live on September 7.
