Campbell’s opened a sweepstakes for Pokemon collectors that’s actually pretty smart if you play it right. They’re giving away eight grand prizes that each include a one-of-a-kind can of “Pewter City Special Stew” with Brock on the label, plus a Nintendo Switch 2 and Pokemon Legends Z-A. All you need to do is collect all eight of their Pokemon soup cans and submit a photo.

Campbell's Pokemon Sweepstakes Explained

The Campbell’s Pokemon cans retail for $1.99 to $2.49 each at most stores. If you buy all eight different characters (Pikachu, Eevee, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Mew, Mewtwo, Jigglypuff), you’re looking at roughly $16 to $20 total investment.

And remember, the unique Pewter City Special Stew can is exclusive to the grand prize, meaning just eight of these are in existence. As far as we know a wider public release isn’t planned, so these are looking like some of the rarest pieces of Pokemon merch ever made.

Campbell Pokemon Sweepstakes Grand Prize

The collectible aspect here is real. Pokemon is still plenty big, and resellers have already proved they can flip gimmick food items for a profit. If these Pewter City Special Stew cans hit the secondary market after winners receive them, expect serious money. Eight cans worldwide means extreme scarcity.

Better yet, Campbell’s official rules allow free entry without purchase. You can mail in a handwritten entry to join the sweeps and save your money. The sweepstakes is US only, open to residents 18+ (19+ in Alabama and Nebraska, 21+ in Mississippi).

The regular Pokemon soup cans are already showing up on eBay in sets, with sellers asking $15 to $25 for four-can lots. Not massive profit yet, but collectors are definitely hunting specific characters. Notably, the Mew and Mewtwo cans seem rarer than the others, and are flipping for up to $15 on their own.

Is This Worth Going For?

First prize for collecting four cans gets you a custom Pokemon soup bowl. Grand prize for all eight cans enters you for the Switch 2 bundle and that ultra-rare Pewter City Special Stew can.

This is a sweepstakes, not a guaranteed flip. Your odds of winning one of eight grand prizes depend entirely on total entries, which could be massive given Pokemon’s fanbase. Campbell’s hasn’t disclosed total number of entries they expect.

However, the cans themselves have collector value beyond the sweepstakes. Limited run, eight different characters, Pokemon branding. If you’re already hunting these at retail for personal collection or minor flipping, entering the sweepstakes costs you nothing extra.

If you’re already collecting these Campbell’s Pokemon cans, absolutely enter the sweepstakes. The Pewter City Special Stew can alone will be worth serious money if it ever hits the secondary market. But don’t buy all eight cans just for sweepstakes entry when free entry exists. Use the alternative method, save your $20, and allocate that toward proven flips instead.

The regular Pokemon cans might appreciate slightly as collector items, but we’re talking modest gains unless something unexpected happens. The real value here is that Pewter City Special Stew can, and your odds of winning it are probably slim regardless of entry method.
