Gamers everywhere are making plans for the release of Armored Core 6. It’s been ten years since the last entry in the series, but fans seem just as dedicated and excited for its launch than any other game. There’s still a few weeks until copies hit shelves, but we’re already seeing an interesting trend. Collector’s Editions of Armored Core 6 have begun reselling. Let’s take a look at the game, it’s different versions, and why fans are willing to pay so much for them.

Armored Core VI Collector's Editions

AC6 is a game that’s been in the works for years. The series itself stretches back to 1997, with new games being produced periodically. The last Armored Core game, Verdict Day, was released in 2013. Now, AC is back, and people are excited.

Like other games in the series, Armored Core 6 revolves around mech warfare. Players are given a high degree of freedom when it comes to picking and choosing their loadouts for missions, and the gameplay itself is quite fast.

While Armored Core has historically been somewhat of a niche series, its sudden revival makes quite a bit of sense. FromSoftware, the developer behind the series, was also the team that produce 2022’s Elden Ring. You know, one of the most awarded games of all time and widely regarded as the biggest title of the last few years? That developer.

So it should be no surprise that FromSoft’s follow-up to Elden Ring would have quite a few eyes on it. In the case of Armored Core 6, initial sales figures are looking good, and there’s already quite a bit of excitement around the game.

Like any modern publisher, Bandai Namco is producing several versions of Armored Core 6, with a variety of markups. Aside from the standard copies, there are also two premium editions of Armored Core 6: the AC6 Collector’s Edition, and AC6 Premium edition. Let’s focus on the Collector’s Edition for now.

Aside from the game and some codes for premium in-game content, Armored Core 6 Collector’s Editions also ship with a host of other goodies. They include a SteelBook case for the game, a set of pins, some stickers, an artbook, and the centerpiece of the collection, a big-ass mech figure.

Pretty cool right? To be fair, a mech figure for a mech game is a pretty obvious choice, but that doesn’t make it any less awesome. The figure is 19 inches tall, armored, and loaded with guns from the game.

The Armored Core 6 Collector’s Edition costs $230 from Bandai Namco’s site, but they’ve been out of stock for weeks. But wait, is it possible to pay even more money for this game? Like, way more, for barely anything extra?

Armored Core 6 Premium Edition

That’s right, there’s a second tier of collector’s editions for this game, and it’s downright stupid. The Armored Core 6 Premium Edition includes everything from the Collector’s Edition, but also adds a garage for your mech figure. Yes, that’s it.

AC6 Premium Edition For Sale

Sure, that’s a cool addition for a serious fan or someone looking to set up a display, but it also significantly bumps up prices. The Armored Core 6 Premium Edition costs $450. If we do a little math, that means the garage add-on for the premium edition (the only difference between editions) costs $220 by itself. Almost the cost of the entire premium edition alone.

Dumb? Probably, but it’s not like that’s ever mattered. In any case, it seems like demand for this game is pretty solid, because collector’s editions are starting to sell.

Armored Core 6 Collector's Editions Resell

After periodically stocking and selling out for the last few months, it seems a real aftermarket has finally developed for this game. AC6 is set to release on August 25, so gamers have just a few weeks left to lock in their copies.

Right now, Armored Core 6 Collector’s Editions are reselling for around $450. Remember, the collector’s editions come with just the mech figure, and no garage. These are by far the more popular option, and make up the majority of sales.

Armored Core 6 Premium Editions with the mech garage also resell, but for around $500-$600. There have been a few sales above that, but it seems like fans and collectors don’t see these as being worth much more than the lower-priced Collector’s Editions, and are not paying a significant premium.

Keep your eyes open for more restocks of AC6 special editions. While both will resell, the Collector’s Edition is the better choice for a reseller, and offers the most profit.
