Get in on American Freight's Going Out of Business Sale

Okay, yes, this is a resell-oriented blog. Usually we cover items that are rare, limited, and profitable to resell, but today we’re doing something a little different. If you’re in the market for any sort of home appliance or furniture, pay attention.

In November, furniture retailer American Freight announced they would be shutting down their business for good. After 56 years, the company filed for bankruptcy after the widespread failure of its parent Sears.

Bad news for them, but there’s a silver lining here. American Freight has confirmed they will be holding a major Going Out of Business sale across their 328 locations in the US. We’re seeing markdowns of 30% to 50% for popular items, and as much as 90% for open-box and used merchandise.

This is an incredible opportunity. If you’ve had to furnish a home before, you know that it’s a remarkably expensive investment, with living room and bedroom sets easily adding up to tens of thousands of dollars.

This sale is your chance to save that money and take home premium equipment from brands like GE and Whirlpool at incredible prices.

Just take a look at their website to see what we’re talking about. They’re currently listing high-end fridges and freezers for discounts of $2,000 off or more, alongside beds and couches for under $100 at a time.

You can find a full list of American Freight locations here. We recommend checking stock online, and making your way to a nearby store ASAP. With these kinds of discounts, expect to see all available stock liquidated quickly.

Your local American Freight store may also offer delivery, but don’t count on it. Discounts are limited to stock on hand, so you’ll need to visit in person to make sure you’re getting the best deal.

There’s definitely an opportunity to make a profit here. Make sure you inspect any used or open box products before you buy, but any time you get a chance to buy premium equipment for this kind of markdown you should take it.

And that’s pretty much the whole story. Another American business falls victim to private equity bloodsuckers, thousands of people are losing their jobs, but at least you can save a few bucks on a fridge. Take that how you will.
