First Look
Carryology unveiled this two-part collaboration on Instagram. The black and white colored backpacks were revealed as the Tokai collection.

Release
On December 9th at 7:15 AM PST, Aer took to Instagram to announce that the packs would go on sale later that same day, at 3 PM PST. They were sold exclusively on Aer’s website.

Online Release Sells out in Minutes
Fans reported sellout times as fast as 1-3 minutes for the white colorway. The sale’s advanced notice combined with the hype around this release made the item hard to secure.

In Store Release
The day after the online release, those located in the San Francisco area had the opportunity to purchase the bag in person at Aer’s SF location. This was much easier than the online release, and for resellers had an added benefit of being able to sell in hand product early on eBay for a higher premium.

The White Tokai Pack Sells for $700 on eBay
In the days immediately following the bags release, numerous eBay listings for it sold in the $600 to $700 range. There was a benefit for resellers to have bought the bag in person if possible, as these early in hand listings would prove most profitable.
