Miller Lite Brewers Clinch Cans Resell for Over $900

The Brewers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in Game 5 to win the first World Series in franchise history. Miller says the beer moving through its Milwaukee brewery at 10:13 PM CT, the exact moment of the final out, went into 4,400 navy cans with yellow lettering and the Brewers logo. The number is a nod to the 44 years since the team’s last Fall Classic appearance in 1982.

Reservations opened at noon CT today through the Miller Brewery Tour website, one can per person, 21 and up. It wasn’t smooth. Reports indicate Miller’s reservation link didn’t work at first, and the site got hammered once fans found their way in.

Even so, every reservation was gone in under half an hour. Pickup happens in person at the Miller Brewery Tour Center on West State Street, and the name on your ID has to match the reservation. As we covered in our original Clinch Can alert, there’s no shipping option at all.

Miller has since opened a waitlist for anyone 21 or older in case cans free up, most likely from reservations that go unclaimed during the pickup windows. It’s free to join, so there’s no reason not to.

A few listings have already popped up on eBay, and we can confirm at least one has sold for over $900. After eBay’s 13.6% fee (about $122), that seller clears roughly $775 before shipping on an item that cost nothing.

Keep perspective, though. Nobody has a can in hand yet, so these are reservation presales, and one sale doesn’t make a market. Still, a $900 comp on a free item is about as loud a green light as you’ll see. The demand is easy to explain: a hard cap of 4,400, Milwaukee-only pickup, and a fanbase that just watched its team win a title for the first time ever. Plenty of Brewers fans live nowhere near the brewery, and they’re the natural buyers here. For comparison, Tripping Animals’ GTA 6 beers cleared $200 on hype alone, without a championship attached.

eBay doesn’t allow alcohol to be listed or sold. We don’t know exactly what that $900 buyer is getting. The listing may be for an empty can, which is perfectly fine. If the seller plans to ship it full, they’re flying a little close to the fire, since a pulled listing or canceled sale is a real possibility. Presales add another layer: since pickup requires a matching ID, sellers have to collect the can themselves and deliver it, and buyers are trusting a stranger for weeks. Your financial downside is basically gas and time, since nothing was paid, but your eBay standing is real collateral. Selling the empty can is an option, though collectors will likely value a sealed, full can far higher.

Prices will almost certainly come down as more listings appear and pickups start on November 15. The best window is now, while hype peaks and supply on the secondary market is thin. Longer term, sealed cans should hold a healthy premium with Brewers collectors, since this is a one-time release tied to a moment that can’t be repeated.
