Dolly Parton's Limited Edition "Dolly Dolls" Resell for Nearly $700

Dolly has told the story for decades: the first song she ever wrote as a kid was about a doll her mother made her out of a corn cob and corn silk hair. That origin story is part of why this new Integrity Toys collaboration ties directly into her new Life of Many Colors Museum, which opens later this month and celebrates her life, career, and fashion archive.

Integrity Toys has spent decades building a reputation in the high-end fashion doll space, the kind of collector shelf that includes Barbie’s Silkstone and Signature lines.

Each Dolly doll stands 12 inches tall with a poseable vinyl body, and the outfits are recreations of real looks pulled from Dolly’s personal archive. Dreamin’ in Gingham came in a limited run of 2,000 units at $165, and World on Fire, based on an outfit Dolly wore to the 2023 ACM Awards, was also limited to 2,000 units at $175. Both are now sold out on Dolly’s webstore.

After selling out in minutes yesterday, the dolls haven on a life of their own on eBay. Some completed and active listings are pushing close to $700, more than triple the original $175 retail price on the higher-end doll.

With a two-per-customer purchase limit, a reseller who caught both dolls at launch and sold through eBay is looking at close to $1,000 in profit.

With only 2,000 units of each design and demand from Dolly’s fan base overlapping with the collector doll community that already pays hundreds for Integrity Toys’ non-celebrity releases, these were practically guaranteed to flip.

The Dreamin’ in Gingham and World on Fire dolls are done at retail, so eBay is now the only place to find them. The bigger opportunity sits with the third doll, Diamond in a Rhinestone World, limited to just 1,200 units at $185 and sold exclusively in person at the museum’s gift shop starting September 29.

Nashville-area resellers should take this one seriously. General admission to the museum opening runs $13, a low barrier to get in the door for a doll with an even smaller run than the two that already tripled in value. Given the demand already shown for this line, a resale climb toward the $1,000 range after opening weekend isn’t out of the question.

For the Dreamin’ in Gingham and World on Fire dolls, current eBay prices make this a strong sell-now situation for anyone still holding one. For Diamond in a Rhinestone World, the smaller 1,200-unit run and museum exclusivity make it worth a trip for resellers near Nashville, with the understanding that early resale numbers on a brand-new release can move fast in either direction.
