Wolverine PS5 Console Covers Are Already Reselling for $150+

We covered the full Wolverine lineup ahead of its August 19 preorder window, and the PS5 Pro console covers were always going to be a fast mover given how cheap they are relative to the rest of the collection.

Sony released two versions exclusively through PlayStation Direct: Battle Yellow, matching the character’s classic suit, and Adamantium, a metallic finish meant to evoke Logan’s indestructible skeleton. Both feature the same claw-slash design as the rest of the lineup, which the limited edition console leverages to show off the internals.

Both colorways sold out at PS Direct within roughly 30 minutes of preorders opening, faster than the Battle Yellow console bundle, the Adamantium controller, or the PS5 Slim covers, all of which stuck around considerably longer.

Resale listings for both cover designs are already up on eBay in the $150 to $200 range, well above what we expected going into launch day. Keep in mind these are presale listings since the covers don’t actually ship until September 15, alongside the game itself. That’s a real factor for both buyers and sellers to weigh. Anyone reselling right now is asking buyers to pay before the product exists in their hands, and anyone buying is trusting a stranger to deliver a month from now.

The math here is simple: two exclusive colorways, a hard 30 minute sellout window, and a fanbase that includes both PS5 Pro owners and general Marvel collectors. We’ve seen this pattern before with Spider-Man 2 console covers, where a strong character tie-in was enough to keep resale demand steady well past launch. Wolverine carries even broader recognition, which helps explain why the covers moved faster than the console itself despite costing a fraction of the price.

A restock isn’t confirmed, but it’s worth watching for given the demand. If PS Direct brings more units back, expect prices to cool off quickly since scarcity is doing most of the heavy lifting right now.

The console bundle is the more interesting story. It’s a standard Digital Edition, not the Pro model, and the $650 price point may be keeping some buyers on the fence. Still, there’s a full month before shipping begins, and PlayStation Direct allows free cancellation up until six days before an order ships, which makes putting in a preorder a fairly low risk bet. We still expect these to pick up steam and resell closer to the game’s September 15 launch.

At $55 to $100 profit per set after eBay fees, the covers are a solid flip if you already snagged a pair, and a reasonable one to chase if a restock hits. Just factor in the wait for shipping and the usual risk that comes with reselling something that hasn’t left the warehouse yet. The console bundle is the one worth keeping an eye on next.
