LEGO's Largest Set Leaked: Sagrada Familia 21065 Drops in July

Credible LEGO leaker Chief Wiggum, operating through the BrickTap community, first published the details on March 17. The set is numbered 21065 and falls under the LEGO Architecture theme. The reported specs: 12,060 pieces, a retail price of $599.99, and a July 1, 2026 release date.

For context, the current record holder is the LEGO Art World Map (31203), which launched in 2021 with 11,695 pieces at $249.99. The Sagrada Família would clear that mark by 365 pieces while costing more than double. The Architecture theme is traditionally home to compact, display-focused landmark models, so a set of this scale is a significant departure and the kind of release that draws attention well outside the usual LEGO collector crowd.

The timing also has a cultural angle. 2026 marks the centenary of Antoni Gaudí’s death, and the real Sagrada Família recently reached its maximum external height after construction began in 1882. None of this is officially confirmed, and details can shift before an announcement. That said, Chief Wiggum has a strong track record, and multiple independent sources have corroborated the core details.

New LEGO sets selling out at retail is not common, but it happens. Record-breaking releases with a story attached tend to have more launch-day demand than standard catalog additions, and this one has both. The combination of the piece count milestone, the cultural timing, and the $600 price point creates a collector audience that extends beyond everyday LEGO buyers.

LEGO’s largest sets historically hold value well and frequently appreciate over time, especially display pieces with a clear cultural hook. That does not mean every unit flips immediately. Large, expensive sets require a patient buyer, and $600 retail already filters out impulse purchases on the secondary market. If this does sell out at launch, the better flips will go to whoever got their order in first. LEGO fulfills preorders in the order they are placed, so an early order means an earlier ship date and a faster path to listing.

One element worth watching closely is the potential for a Gift with Purchase, or GWP. LEGO sometimes includes a small bonus set alongside major releases, and these can be extremely lucrative for resellers. GWPs are typically exclusive to the promotion period and unavailable anywhere else, which means demand from collectors who miss the window drives real secondary market prices.

A great example of this comes from LEGO’s Barad-dûr set in 2024. Resellers were able to secure the sets along with the Fell Beast GWP, and listed those sets for sale separately. By flipping the set’s exclusive minifigs and GWP, they were able to reap around $300 from eBay sales against a $460 MSRP, essentially printing themselves a 75% off coupon for the set.

If you plan to buy with resale in mind, buy directly from LEGO.com. LEGO offers 90-day returns on unopened products purchased directly from their site. Brick-and-mortar LEGO retail stores reportedly do not accept returns on purchases over $200, which makes in-store purchases a much riskier proposition on a $600 set. If this does not flip, you need the return window.

This is a set worth preordering the moment it becomes available, assuming the leak holds up to official confirmation. The record-breaking story, the cultural timing, and the Architecture theme crossover all point to higher-than-average launch demand.
