Key Points

  • The December restock included all four signed CD variants at $19.89

  • Current resale prices range from $30 to $50 per CD on eBay, down from the $75 to $120 range in September

  • Complete four-CD sets are now listing for $140 to $200, compared to $350 to $700 after the initial drop

It’s a Cyber Monday miracle! Around 8 PM last night, Taylor Swift restocked the same four signed CD variants that sold out back in September.. Same price point, same 4-per-customer limit, and the exact same signed photo inserts we covered three months ago. And while prices have settled from the initial launch frenzy, the profit is still there.

When these signed CDs first dropped in September, we watched individual copies flip for $75 to $120 on eBay. Complete four-CD sets were pushing $350 to $550, with some sales hitting $700. Those were exceptional launch-day margins driven by the usual Swift scarcity and FOMO.

The September drop created what looked like a one-time opportunity. Swift’s team positioned these as limited release items with no restock planned. The Life of a Showgirl became the fastest-selling album in history during its first week, moving over 4 million units including 3.4 million pure sales. Individual signed CDs from that initial drop maintained strong values through October and November.

Last night’s restock brought back all four variants. Swift likes to list these for a limited window, usually 72 hours, but these obviously sold out much faster than that. Once these went up for sale, they’d be gone in under 30 minutes.

Individual signed CDs are moving in the $30 to $50 range on eBay right now. That’s down from the September peak, but it’s still a 50% to 150% markup over retail before fees. After eBay’s 13% fees, you’re looking at $6 to $24 profit per CD depending on your sale price. Not the insane margins from launch day, but solid returns for a same-day flip.

Complete four-CD sets are selling for $140 to $200, which translates to roughly $42 to $95 profit after fees on a $79.56 investment. The math gets even better if you copped all four variants since you can sell individually at higher per-unit margins or bundle them for convenience pricing.

The market also rewards “unique” signature variants. Collectors pay premiums for heart signatures, unusually long autographs, or particularly bold examples. These command the high end of the price range and sometimes push past $50 for standout signatures. If you scored good signatures in the restock, you’re sitting on the better profit margins.

The restock brought fresh supply to market, which naturally brought prices down from the September peak. That’s standard economics. But it also created a cleaner opportunity for resellers who can move quickly.

If you copped at retail last night, you’re in a good position. List at $40 to $50 per CD and you’re making $22 to $30 profit after eBay’s 13% fees. Bundle all four as a complete set for $180 to $200 and you’re clearing $75 to $95 after fees on your $79.56 investment. That’s a 94% to 119% ROI.

Bottom Line

This restock reinforces the proven strategy with Swift releases: immediate flips win. Cop at retail, list within days while demand is hot, collect your profit. The September sellers who listed immediately made $50+ per CD. Current flippers will make $20 to $30 per CD, which is still solid for a quick turnaround.

The risk is always holding for appreciation. Swift’s team restocks when they want to move more units, which kills long-term speculation. But for immediate flips, her merchandise remains one of the most reliable plays in the collectibles market. Consistent demand, easy to source at retail when drops happen, and predictable profit margins.

If you grabbed these last night at retail, you’re looking at 90% to 120% ROI depending on how you price and whether you bundle. That’s a strong flip by any standard.
