Wicked for Good Signed CD Restock Nets Scalpers Hundreds

Signatures from Erivo and Grande plus a four-per-customer limit? We cooked this one

Key Points

  • Signed CDs retailed for $14 through Republic Records with a four-per-customer limit

  • Current eBay listings range from $100 to $150 for unframed CDs, with framed versions reaching $250 to $450

  • The October restock sold out within hours once word spread, and the November restock followed a similar pattern

Republic Records launched signed CDs for the first Wicked soundtrack back in 2024, and those moved consistently at strong margins. Smart resellers recognized the pattern when the Part 2 soundtrack dropped. Both Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande signed the CD inserts, creating dual-signature collectibles tied to what’s become one of the biggest film events of 2025.

The November 14 restock wasn’t heavily promoted. Republic Records didn’t blast it across social media or send mass emails. They quietly made inventory available through their official store, and only resellers monitoring the site caught it in time. The four-per-customer limit signaled they had limited stock, and based on how fast the October restock sold out, anyone who hesitated probably missed it.

Wicked: For Good hits theaters November 21, making these signed CDs time-sensitive collectibles. The soundtrack features two new original songs not on the Part 1 release including “No Place Like Home” performed by Erivo and “The Girl In The Bubble” performed by Grande, plus their duet on the title track “For Good.” Collectors want these before the film drops, driving up current demand.

eBay is the primary platform moving these. Listings show prices between $100 and $150 for the basic signed CD, with multiple sellers reporting sold units. Bought and sold in bulk, you can see how quickly the profits could stack up.

Wicked Good Signed CD for Sale

The first Wicked soundtrack signed CDs established the market. Those are currently selling in the $40 to $60 range on eBay, showing sustained demand even months after release. Multiple resellers have moved 50+ units of the Part 1 soundtrack, proving collector interest goes beyond opening weekend hype.

Platform fees matter here. eBay takes 13% including payment processing. On a $150 sale, you’re paying about $19.50 in fees, leaving roughly $130 before shipping costs. With a $14 retail price, that’s over $115 profit per CD. Buyers loaded up at the four-per-customer limit walked away with $460 in profit from a single order.

Official Republic Records provenance adds value. Autograph authentication is a constant concern in the collectibles market, and these come straight from the source with both signatures verified. That eliminates the biggest buyer hesitation with signed memorabilia, which is why these move faster than similar items from third-party authenticators.

The biggest risk is oversaturation. If Republic Records does another restock in December or January, current secondary market prices could crash as supply increases. Resellers banking on scarcity might find themselves competing with buyers who paid retail on a later drop.

Bottom Line

Anyone who copped at $14 during the November 14 restock is sitting on clean profit. With current eBay prices between $100 and $150, after fees you’re clearing $85 to $115 per CD. That’s legitimate money for something that took five minutes to order online.

The four-per-customer limit was manageable for most resellers, meaning a single order generated $340 to $460 in profit. No heavy lifting, no sourcing trips, no authentication concerns. Just monitoring Republic Records’ site and acting fast when inventory appeared.

The window is closing as we approach the November 21 film release. Collectors want these before seeing the movie, not after. If you’re holding inventory, listing now captures peak demand. Waiting until after release risks competing with potential future restocks and diminished urgency from buyers who’ve already seen the film.

For resellers who missed this drop, watch for potential December restocks. Republic Records has established a pattern with the Wicked soundtracks, and they might bring back inventory as holiday gift demand increases. Set up alerts, monitor their store, and don’t sleep on announcements like most people did with the November 14 restock.
