Key Points

  • The coin retails for $105 and drops November 10 at 9 AM PST on the US Mint website with a 100,000 mintage limit

  • Raw coins from the Army and Navy releases are currently flipping for $180 to $200 on eBay

  • One coin per household limit applies for the first 24 hours, though experienced resellers work around this with multiple addresses

The final military tribute coin of 2025 hits tomorrow morning. The Marine Corps 250th Anniversary Silver Eagle proof is your last chance to grab one of these special privy mark releases until 2197, when the Air Force gets its turn.

Marine Corps Anniversary Silver Proof Coins

This completes the 250th Anniversary military tribute series. The US Mint struck three limited-edition Silver Eagle proofs honoring the Army (June), Navy (October), and now the Marine Corps. Each features the classic Walking Liberty design with a unique privy mark for each branch.

The Marine Corps privy mark depicts the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor emblem, positioned above Liberty’s right foot. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint with a “P” mint mark, this is the first Silver Eagle to feature a Marine Corps privy mark. The timing aligns with the Marine Corps birthday on November 10, adding symbolic weight for collectors and military families.

The coin comes in a blue velvet, satin-lined presentation case with a certificate of authenticity. It’s .999 fine silver weighing one troy ounce, using the updated Walking Liberty design that better reflects Adolph Weinman’s original 1916 vision.

The US Mint typically uses a waiting room system that randomly assigns queue positions. During the Navy drop in October, some resellers got through in under five minutes while others waited 15 minutes or more.

The Marine Corps release will likely sell faster than the Army and Navy versions based on established patterns. The Navy coin moved quicker than the Army coin, with 63,818 sold versus 57,677 Army coins at similar time marks. Collectors who missed earlier drops are ready, and the Marine Corps holds special significance as the final release in this series.

Raw, ungraded coins from the Army and Navy releases are selling for $180 to $200 on eBay. After eBay’s 13% fees, you’re clearing $60 to $70 per coin. Not massive, but definitely solid if you can secure multiple coins around the household limit.

Graded versions command higher prices. NGC PF70 coins with special labels like First Day of Issue or military-themed designations are pushing $250 to $300. The grading process takes several weeks, so those premiums won’t hit immediately.

250 Anniversary Silver Coin for Sale

The Army version has remained stable since its initial spike at the $180 to $200 range, suggesting that’s the current ceiling for raw coins. Graded versions with special labels continue performing better, particularly for collectors completing the three-coin set.

Risk Factors

This is final sale only. The US Mint does not accept returns on limited mintage collectibles, so if you can’t flip it, you’re stuck with a $105 silver coin. Current spot silver is around $31 per ounce, meaning the raw silver value is roughly $31 while you paid $105.

The household limit creates artificial scarcity for the first 24 hours, but experienced resellers bypass this using multiple addresses and payment methods. Expect many sellers to have 3-10 coins, which could flood the secondary market initially.

Previous releases (Army and Navy) have maintained stable resale values around $180 to $200, but there’s no guarantee the Marine Corps version follows the same pattern. If demand is weaker or supply is higher through bulk purchase programs, prices could drop.

250th Military Tribute Coin Collection

Collectors who want the complete 250th Anniversary military tribute set need all three coins: Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. Raw three-coin sets aren’t widely available yet on secondary markets, but the demand exists.

If you secured the Army and Navy releases earlier this year, adding the Marine Corps version completes your set. Selling as a complete set could command premium pricing over individual sales, particularly if you have matching serial numbers or purchase dates.

Based on individual coin prices of $180 to $200, a three-coin raw set could potentially sell for $550 to $650, though the market hasn’t fully established pricing yet. Graded three-coin sets with matching PF70 grades and special labels could push even higher, particularly with First Day of Issue designations across all three coins.

The catch is holding all three until buyers recognize the set value. Individual coins provide faster liquidity, while sets require patience but potentially higher total returns. Most resellers are flipping individually rather than waiting to assemble sets.

What to Expect Tomorrow

Set your alarm for 8:50 AM PST and be logged into the US Mint website before 9 AM. Have your payment and shipping information saved. The waiting room opens a few minutes before the official launch.

Be ready to sit in the queue. The one coin per household limit means you’re restricted on the official channel, but the limit typically lifts after 24 hours. By then, most of the mintage is already sold.

The coin will likely move faster than the Army version (which took several days to sell out) and possibly match or exceed the Navy version’s pace. Military collectors and resellers are both ready after watching the first two releases perform well.

This is your last shot at a 250th Anniversary military privy mark Silver Eagle for the rest of your lifetime. The Air Force doesn’t celebrate its 250th until 2197, so these three coins represent the complete modern military tribute series.
