Hamilton Teams With Call of Duty for Special Watch Release

This is a 38mm stainless steel field watch with Hamilton’s H-10 automatic movement providing 80 hours of power reserve. It’s built with an understated black dial with Arabic numerals, date window at 3 o’clock, and 100 meters water resistance. It comes on a khaki green NATO strap with brown leather accents, with the only Call of Duty branding on the caseback engraving and special packaging.

The watch appears on Axel Vermaak in multiplayer mode. Players will see it in-game and can wear the identical piece in real life. Hamilton supplied timepieces to the U.S. military during World War II and the Khaki Field line pays tribute to that heritage, making it a logical fit for a military-themed game set in 2035.

The standard Khaki Field Auto 38mm with leather strap or bracelet sells for around $745, making this a $230 premium for the Call of Duty caseback, NATO strap, and special packaging. Hamilton has done this twice before with Far Cry 6 and Death Stranding 2, both times creating limited runs that sold to gaming fans.

Call of Duty Black Ops 7 launches November 14, and the watch drops the same day. The franchise has moved over 500 million copies since 2003 with 30 billion dollars in revenue.

Watch collectors and gamers are different markets with some crossover. Hamilton’s previous gaming collabs didn’t generate massive resale activity, but they also didn’t have Call of Duty’s reach. 5,000 pieces sounds like a lot until you consider millions of people will see this watch in Black Ops 7.

The obvious comparison would be the unique Chronomark watches sold with Starfield’s Collector’s Edition. These were also an exact replica of a watch featured in-game, and resellers were flipping them for more than $300 at a time, exceeding the MSRP for the entire Collector’s Edition.

Of course, these CoD Hamilton watches are considerably more expensive. The added value comes from their unique engraving and case, as well as the ritzier mechanical movement.

The $230 premium over standard models is already baked into the $975 retail price. You’re paying for limited edition status and Call of Duty branding. This will be a pretty tight flip barring huge viral attention prior to the watch’s release.

Watch resale platforms like Chrono24 show standard Khaki Field Autos trading between $410 to $700, well below Hamilton’s retail pricing. Limited editions typically hold value better than standard production, but gaming collabs are mostly unproven territory for watch resale.

The smart play here is only buying if you’re a Call of Duty fan who wants the watch for yourself. Buying purely for resale is risky given Hamilton’s watch resale history and the unknowns around gaming collectibles. If you cop and decide to flip, list immediately after receiving to catch early hype before supply saturates the market.

While Hamilton offers refunds for watches, it’s unclear if these are covered under their standard 14-day policy. As a limited edition item, assume they’re final sale and plan accordingly.
