It’s been a good week for Babymetal fans and the scalpers that profit from them. The band re-released several versions of their upcoming album “Metal Forth” on CD and vinyl with exclusive signed art cards. These have been appearing in and out of stock for several months now, and this restock gave anyone who missed out another chance to snag one. Now we’re seeing them (continue) to resell for well above their retail prices. Let’s take a look.

Babymetal Metal Forth Signed Versions

If you’ve been on the internet for a while you’ll probably recognize the name Babymetal. Originally launched in 2010 as an idol/metal fusion band, the group instantly drew attention for the juxtaposition of heavy riffing and the three young female members, who were between 11 and 12 when the band was formed.

Their music was highly polarizing, but Babymetal eventually established themselves as a successful band within Japan’s idol scene. Purists might roll their eyes, but some of their songs are pretty damn catchy.

And in the last fifteen years, they’ve continue to tour and produce new albums. The youngest member Yuimetal left the group in 2018, and was replaced by Momometal shortly after. Now their next release “Metal Forth” is set for release in August.

You know what that means. Babymetal has been producing a ton of new merch and promotional material ahead of this upcoming release, with signed CD and vinyl versions being some of the most attractive.

Metal Forth Signed Momometal CD Reseller

Signed “Metal Forth” CDs and vinyl first dropped in June, exclusively through the Metal Forth website. The release was part of a deliberate strategy to run up the US Billboard charts, and they were limiting sales to US customers.

This decision was controversial among Babymetal fans, but it didn’t stop them from selling out. Babymetal sold multiple signed versions of “Metal Forth” including solo signatures from Sumetal, Moametal, and Momometal, as well as versions signed by all members.

Signed CDs were available for just $14 and limited to four per customer, while signed vinyl ranged from $33 to $37. As of this publication, over twenty different versions of “Metal Forth” have been sold online, although they all feature the same songs.

Not that we’re player-hating. We support any and every artist in their search to make a bag, as long as we can get in on the action. These signed CDs have been extremely profitable ever since they released, and this week’s drop is no exception.

Right now, signed Babymetal “Metal Forth” CDs are reselling for around $50 with solid volume, while certain vinyl variants have flipped for anywhere from $120 to nearly $200.

Babymetal Signed CD Forth for Sale

Most recent sales are for Moametal’s signature, and it seems like hers made up the majority of the restock. Unsurprisingly, the additional stock flooding the market has dropped prices a bit. While these are still plenty profitable at $50, earlier sales were averaging out at around $100 per CD.

In any case, we’ll be keeping a close eye out for future signed releases from Babymetal. They clearly want to make money, and we’ll be there every step of the way.
