If you’re looking to expand your portfolio from card art to actual art, you need to see this. The artist Zalkian is holding the next giveaway in his Pokemon prints series this week, and there’s absolutely no cost for entry. We’ve seen Zalkian’s work sell on the open market for over $40,000, so this is an opportunity that any reseller should jump on. The only catch is that you’ll need to prove that you own at least one Pokemon card. Let’s get into all the details.

Zalkian Pokemon Prints

First, just who is Zalkian? Beyond the scant information circulated through online art galleries, we don’t much. Zalkian is the alias of an anonymous experimental artist that’s been active in the last decade or so.

One of his most notable productions was the “Inferno Series“, where bidders and internet trolls competed via livestream for a painting. Every second, viewers could press the “burn” button to light the painting on fire. If the final bid fell short of the number of “burn” presses, the painting was torched and a limited set of prints were released.

In 2024, Zalkian launched a series of etched prints based on Pokemon. Each one is limited to three prints depicting a scene from the game. The art itself is bright, distinct, and resembles early 3D renders.

The drawing for the sixth edition in the series is open now. Zalkian only reveals the artwork following the drawing’s conclusion, but it’s free to enter. In fact, there’s only one hoop entrants will need to jump through.

How to Enter Zalkian's Pokemon Drawing

In the interest of making sure these prints only go to true Pokemon fans (and out of the hands of nasty resellers), Zalkian has made an unusual stipulation for entering the drawing.

Along with an email and contact information, you’ll also need to submit proof that you own a graded Pokemon card to enter the drawing. You’ll be asked to provide the certificate number and grading house at the time of entry.

And even if you don’t have a graded card, you can still enter. Zalkian requests that you take a picture of any Pokemon card you own, upload it online through an image hosting site like Imgur, and provide a link to the picture with your entry.

Zalkian’s Pokemon drawing will be open until June 12. We strongly recommend entering, even if that means taking a trip to Walmart to buy a pack of Pokemon cards. Additionally, please note that while it’s free to enter the draw, winners will be expected to pay all shipping fees and taxes for their card.

Zalkian Pokemon Prints Resell for Thousands

So, is this worth entering? After all, taking a picture and clicking some buttons is hard work. If you can muster the effort, you might be looking at a few extra zeroes in your bank account this month.

Zalkian is definitely on the up, and we’ve seen some of his previous work sell from galleries for $30,000 to $40,000. One of the prints from the fourth edition of the Pokemon series, “Ghosted and Haunted”, sold for $44,000 earlier this year.

What are you waiting for? Even if this whole collection is inflated and pumped by insiders, the money is clearly there. Selling a print for even a fraction of these listed sales would put you ahead a few grand. According to Zalkian’s website, 12,000 people entered the last draw, with this week’s likely being the biggest yet.
